LATEST NEWS
4/15/2010 - Hookin Up attended the 3rd TNT (Thursday Night Tournament) of the 2010 season and for the first time this year, had NO technical difficulties (knock on wood).
Apparently the fish were out on vacation because 22 of the boats entered didn't catch anything! Hookin Up managed to catch a 1 decent fish at 2.95lbs which placed us in 21st place today out of 55 boats. Not as well as we had hoped for but it could have been worse!
4/8/2010 - Hookin Up attended the 2nd TNT (Thursday Night Tournament) of the 2010 season and again had some "technical difficulties" with a failed trolling motor. Trolling Motor Sponsors Welcome!
Even without a trolling motor, Hookin Up managed to place 17th out of 54 boats entered! Hope to have the trolling motor repaired or a sponsor on board before next Thursday Nights Tournament!
4/1/2010 - Hookin Up was anxious to get started in our new boat and truck today but ran into some "technical difficulties" right after putting in the water. After overcoming those minor setbacks, we were off in our Sprint and our 200hp Johnson got us to our spot in a flash! Fishing was very challenging today with 20 of the 57 boats entered not catching anything so we were very thankful for the one that we were able to catch and place us 35th. Sure, we hoped for better results but what could be better than spending the day out on the water with your son fishing! We will get them next time!
Welcome to Hookin' Up!
Fishing is the activity of hunting
for fish. It is an ancient and worldwide practice that dates back about 10,000
years with various techniques and traditions. What started out as a way to
eat and survive has also become a competitive sport as well.
Here at Hookin' Up we fish for the
challenge and sport of fishing. We catch and release to preserve fishing
for not only our generation but also future generations to come.
Make sure that you use the correct
type of bait and fishing gear permitted in that area. There may also be limits
on the number, size, and kind of fish that you can keep. Check with your
destination ahead of time to see what the local regulations allow. If you use a
boat or watercraft when fishing, check to see what kinds of watercraft are
allowed at the body of water where you are going to fish. Don't fish in areas where it is
not permitted. These areas have been declared "off limits" to fishing to protect
wildlife, vegetation, or for your safety.
Safety While Fishing:
If using a boat to fish, always
wear your life jacket and make sure that your passengers wear theirs! Use caution when baiting and removing hooks and those around you when you cast.
Obey the posted speed limits and wake warnings if using a watercraft when fishing to protect our wildlife and habitats.
